At Allied Integrated Marketing, I helped promote films for various studios including Summit Entertainment (before it was picked up by Lions Gate Entertainment), Warner Bros. Pictures and Open Road Films.
I promoted films by considering the audiences that would be attracted to the films and making connections with companies who catered to such audiences. For example, when I was assigned to promote the film Sinister (2012), she went to various haunted houses in Arizona and gave away film posters.
Here are photos of promotional materials being given out to those we thought would be a good fit for the film, Hit & Run (2012).
For certain films, talent came to Phoenix to help promotions. When Stephen Chbosky came to the Valley to promote The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), I was assigned to create a student-run press conference for Mr. Chbosky. I had eight editors of various AZ high school newspapers attend the press conference, which was held at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale, Ariz. Mr. Chbosky answered questions regarding the film at the conference.
